Mizkan™ Handa Plant begins operation

The birth of "YAMABUKITM"

YAMABUKI™ vinegar is made from sake lees and matured for 3 years. This vinegar complements well with nigiri (hand pressed) sushi.

1887

"Mizkan™ Logo" registered

Famous Mizkan™ mark is derived from Matazaemon Nakano IV's family crest.

1954

Vinegar Bottling began.

1964

"AJIPON™" was introduced.

1979

"Sauce for Shabu-shabu", "PONSHABU™" "GOMASHABU™" and "Sweet Seasoning" were introduced to the market.

1981

Major U.S. Vinegar Manufacturer "American Industries" acquired.

1988

"Tsuyu" was introduced in Japan

Using plenty amount of real bonito stock, "Tsuyu" was introduced to the huge market. The product name was later changed to "OIGATSUO™ TSUYU" and became a favorite soup base at home.
1994

Mizkan Thailand was established.

2005

Mizkan Asia Pacific Co., Ltd. was established in Singapore as the regional headquarters of the Asia Pacific Ocean region.

2006

Branches in Hongkong and Taiwan of Mizkan Asia Pacific Co., Ltd. were established.

2012

Sarson's™ & Haywards™ brands were acquired.

2013

Branston™ brand was acquired.

2014

Ragu™ & Bertolli™ pasta brands were acquired.
